Boots-on-site recruitment for UK trades and property maintenance.

Why we exist

Trades hiring has its own rhythm. The shortlist matters more than the volume. The tickets, the temperament and the willingness to actually turn up Monday morning decide whether a multi-trades or a gas engineer is still on the firm at six months. Generalist agencies treat trades like any other category and miss the signals that matter.

Trades World Solutions was set up to fix that. We are a UK permanent recruitment partner with one belief at the centre of the desk: a hire only works if both sides feel cared for. The contractor gets a brief taken seriously, a shortlist delivered on time and a consultant who knows the role's real shape on site. The tradesperson gets the truth about the work, the rate and the team, not a sales pitch.

What we do, plainly

We place permanent trades and property maintenance staff for UK contractors, housing operators and FM providers across ten trades. Our desk is built around hires that stay - the brief, the vetting, the offer support, the day-7 / 30 / 90 follow-ups - every step geared toward six-month outcomes.

The roles we place most often:

  • Electricians (NICEIC, NAPIT, JIB)
  • Plumbers (domestic, commercial, voids)
  • Gas engineers (Gas Safe, commercial gas)
  • Carpenters (site, joinery, second-fix)
  • Plasterers (float & set, dry-lining, render)
  • Painters & decorators (CITB-trained, voids)
  • Roofers (pitched, flat, felt)
  • Groundworkers (drainage, kerbs, concrete)
  • Multi-trades (void teams, reactive)
  • Property maintenance leads (supervisors, contracts managers)

Who we work for

Our clients are UK contractors, social housing operators, facilities management providers, private estates and small-works firms. Mostly small to mid-market, with operations managers who want to spend less time on recruitment and more time on running the firm.

How we vet

Every candidate goes through:

  • Right-to-work verification
  • CSCS card and trade-specific ticket verification (NICEIC / NAPIT / Gas Safe / JIB grade etc.)
  • Reference contact with the previous foreman or PM lead, not just HR
  • A practical conversation: site mix, rate expectations, willingness to travel, notice period
  • Motivation captured in writing

How we think about a placement

A successful placement is not a CV submission. It is the moment six months later when the new hire is still on the firm, still turning up Monday and still good on site. That is the only outcome that matters to us, and the only one we measure against.

Our values, the short version

  • Verify the tickets. Every card checked against the issuing body before submission.
  • Tell the truth. If the rate is below market, we will say so. If a candidate is not the right fit, we will not pretend they are.
  • One throat to choke. One consultant per client, end to end. Holiday cover briefed properly.
  • Stand behind the work. Free replacement period on every placement. No small print.
  • Foreman-level references. We talk to the people who actually saw the candidate work.
